Superior's 120,000 square foot World Class Manufacturing facility, located in Clearfield, Utah, is equipped with the most advanced manufacturing techniques and equipment available for sheet metal fabrication. The Company operates five 10-ton and two 20-ton overhead cranes. Sheet metal is cut from 10,000 pound coils by two de-coil lines. Special shapes and sizes are created with two computer-driven plasma cutter tables. Handwork is minimized by the use of both electrical and pneumatic power tools. A spiral pipe machine produces round duct work and custom lengths in diameters from 4" to 84". Semi-automated welders and custom designed cooling are used in the manufacture of welded products.
The facility’s production capacity is approximately 850 thousand pounds of product in a given month; in 2006, the Company produced nearly 7 million pounds. Superior keeps approximately 350 thousand pounds of coil metal in its inventory and has sources that can deliver additional coils on a daily basis. Raw materials are normally readily available from several sources, although Superior customarily purchases coil metal from two local vendors.
